Tonight was amazing. We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends and the service and food were amazing. The staff was so thoughtful. They brought out dessert and a card. We appreciate the kindness and everyone going over and beyond to make our dinner special. Thank you so much!
This is the newly opened Superica restaurant in Ashford, I’ll give details below firstly would give for Service and Atmosphere then food.
Service- They were short on staff so service was slow, even chips and salsa sauce did not come when asked for a repeat.
Atmosphere- Ambiance is really good, they offer indoor as well as outdoor sitting.
Food- Ordered 3 dishes.
Vegetarian- Had vegetarian enchiladas- It was okay in taste, flavors were missing, not that great. I will not like to have it again.
Chicken Tinga Taco- They were good in taste as told by my husband. He tried both soft and hard.
Chicken Chalupa - They were also decent in taste, not that flavorful.
Food was excellent. Chips & salsa delicious. Waiter Denzel was accommodating, friendly & efficient.
We ended up on deciding on Suprica - the choices around Thai restaurant were endless at their new location. My friends who live walking distance from the restaurant said the drinks are better here than the food.
We got grilled tacos which were great. A good size pita with 3 long slices of meat. Very filling. Also ordered a couple of appetizers which were just perfect. The free Nachos came with 2 different sauces - the green one was amazing - I told Katie I discriminate the green one as was just amazing !
The visit was complimented with our exceptionally friendly server Katie - just ask what section she is waiting on and just sit there blindly. She will make the whole visit even better - she had great recommendations and kept us entertained.
Outside patio was just perfect for 70 degrees weather.
Lots of free parking and please walk around the beautiful walk way that encircles the restaurant with ponds, grass area and dessert spots around.
Service was quick and the attendant was super friendly. if you go there be sure to try the queso, because it's sensational!! The food was delicious, I already want to try other dishes. Try the Coca-Cola bottle, it's the Mexican Coca-Cola, you'll love it!!! You pay for quality and ambience, it wasn't that cheap but it was worth it.
Table for 2 for lunch
As I approached, I noticed there was an open parking lot with plenty of available spots. My friend and I entered the restaurant around 12:15 pm on a Saturday with no reservation. We were greeted warmly and advised there would be about a 20-minute wait. The hostess took my name and number and in less than 20 mins, I received a text that our table was ready. We were seated in a nice-sized booth, and our server came over quickly with our waters. He asked if we had been there before and answered all of our questions. I ordered the Blood Orange IPA, and my friend and I both ordered the same entree, the Grilled Chicken Fajitas. My friend and I were chatting it up, and before we knew it, the food was coming out. Everything looked fresh and delicious. We both really enjoyed our Fajitas. Our server was very friendly and attentive, during the whole lunch. The general manager also came by to check on us and see if we needed anything. The restaurant dining room and bathrooms were spotless. Overall, it was a very good experience, but I thought $32 for one can of beer and a chicken fajitas meal (albeit it felt like a lot of food) was a little expensive.
Superica was far from superior and average at best. My party of 2 arrived for a late lunch during the week. There were a bunch of empty tables, but that still equated to about a 30 minute wait to be seated. The entire process was slow and it seemed intentional throughout the entire restaurant (like they were trying to pace orders for the kitchen). The complimentary chips and salsas were yummy! We split a Tamale and it wasn’t good by itself but the accompanying Chili Gravy had good flavor and made it edible. For my entree, I had the Tacos Al Carbon (Rico Style). It was borderline bland. The other guest had the Steak Quesadillas (steak was poor quality and impossible to chew). I ordered a Mexican Sprite twice because the server forgot the first time. Upon asking again, he informed that they didn’t have more. We waited and waited for our check while the server held random conversations with the other employees. Overall, it wasn’t the best experience.
I had been trying to review this place for a couple of months. Each time I arrived it was a 20-40 minute wait. TODAY, I walked in and was greeted by a very pleasant Aisha (NJ native) and quickly seated. I explained to David (waiter) this was my first time. He took his time to explain my items of choice in details. He had a very bubbly personality. Mid-service, Tynisha (another server; not mine) greeted me to inquire; was this my first time? How was my food? Did I need to-go containers? I thought that was very kind and above and beyond service. Lastly, Mike (manager or GM) stopped by to check in and I informed him everything was great and I’d be reviewing the restaurant.
The GOOD part…lol I started off with American yellow con queso with chorizo. It was so freaking delicious and the chorizo was very seasoned. They also have two different types of salsas for the chips; avocado salsa verde (earthy herbal taste) and fire roasted tomato salsa (almost like a smokey taste but very light).
I had the two barbacoa tacos with charro beans and rice. The combo does not include rice. The barbacoa tacos were the BEST I’ve had to date and shamefully I eat a lot of them. They were tender and had this pasquilla oaxaca (a smoky sauce), avocado, and cilantro. The charro beans were very seasoned and not dry. The rice was fluffy and complemented the beans very nicely! I had plenty to take home, minus the tacos. ;) As I was saying goodbye to the greeters, I received a “sweet treat”, praline candy. You also receive a cool Superica postcard. I WILL RETURN!
